Clara Culp - Owner & Fixer
A little about me…
Clara is from Ridgeland, Mississippi. Her favorite outdoor activities include skiing, climbing, rafting, biking, and trail running.
She received a degree in Human Sciences with emphasis on Fashion Design and Merchandising in 2015 from Mississippi State University.
Her first job and internship in the outdoor industry was working at a small local outdoor store, Buffalo Peak Outfitters in Jackson, MS. In June of 2017, she and her husband moved to Bend, OR. Clara was hired by Gear Fix and after a few months was hired into the sewing repair shop. For the next three years she learned a wide range of repairs such as all things zippers, patching, drysuit gasket replacements, custom designs, minor shoe repairs, and more. She has been interviewed by Outside Magazine on the subject of rain gear and when it has seen it’s last day. Full article here.
Clara is married to Ryan Culp and have two beautiful daughters. They recently moved to Birmingham, Alabama to be closer to family.
A little about the business…
We know the routine all to well…your gear breaks or tears, you keep it in the closet for a few months (or years) then finally break down and donate it or throw it away.
What then? The thrift store cannot resell it or takes up space in a landfill. This is where Little Mountain Repair can help! By having your gear repaired you add longevity to its life cycle and help reduce your waste. No one can do everything when it comes to sustainable practices but this is one easy way to help the apparel industry reduce it’s footprint.
Little Mountain Repairs accepts donations of outdoor gear and apparel that can be repaired, resold and proceeds donated to an outdoor conservation organization.
